Questions We Often Get Asked By Our Patients
Where are we located?
Our main consulting rooms are located in Camberwell. We also provide offsite consulting in East Melbourne. Please see Contact for address details.
Is there parking available?
Off street parking is available at Camberwell (at the rear of the building). Ample on street parking is available.
Is there public transport access?
Our Camberwell rooms have public transport access. Tram line (No:72) along Burke Road, stop No. 56 north bound or stop No. 55 south bound.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. Many of our patients have a GP or specialist referral but it is not necessary.
Can I claim physiotherapy services?
Yes, you can claim through your private health fund extras. Physiotherapy is not covered under Medicare although you may be eligible for an Enhanced Primary Care / Chronic Disease Management program. Speak with your GP regarding this. The rebate only covers a portion of the consultation, so there will be some out of pocket expense. Payment of your account is to be paid in full on the day of your consultation and the rebate can be obtained by taking your receipt into Medicare. You cannot claim your consult through Medicare AND Health Insurance. Only one form of rebate is allowed. Please contact our reception team if you would like more information. We also see Department of Veteran Affairs, Work Cover and Transport Accident Commission patients.
Can I bring my children with me?
Yes, we are a family friendly practice and have books and toys. Our Physiotherapists are comfortable having children in the consulting rooms and our receptionists are happy to hold babies as required.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Any forms you were sent in the mail or that you downloaded from our website prior to your appointment. For subsequent appointments please don't forget to bring your Women's & Men's Health Physiotherapy folder.
What happens if I am unable to make my appointment?
We require 24 hours’ notice if you are unable to make your appointment. It’s common for us to have people on a waiting list, so cancelling with enough notice allows others to receive much needed treatment. In the event that you need to cancel, but the practice is closed, please leave a message on our answering machine. In the event of a late cancellation or non-attendance a fee will apply.
How much will my consultation cost?
All of our consultations have an associated fee. You can call our reception team to confirm pricing before you attend. Payment is due at the time of consultation. Cash, cheques, EFTPOS and major credit cards are accepted.
Do you treat Workcover, TAC or DVA patients?
Yes we do. If WorkCover or TAC are responsible for payment of your account please bring your claim details with you and inform the receptionist upon arrival. Please note that WorkCover and TAC do not fully cover our professional fee. DVA patients must bring a doctors referral and DVA Gold Card to the first appointment.
Am I able to claim a private health insurance rebate at my appointment?
Yes, we have HICAPS facilities available at our Camberwell rooms. Rebates are only available on the day of service so if you forget your card, or receive treatment at one of our other locations, you will need to pay your invoice in full and then claim directly through your fund.
What payment facilities are at off site locations (not Camberwell)?
Unfortunately, we do not have payment facilities at our offsite locations. You will receive an invoice via the mail for payment and if you have Health Insurance, will need to claim directly through the fund. Payments can be made over the phone with a Visa or Mastercard, via direct debit or by posting a cheque. Information on how to make these payments will be provided with the invoice.
How long is an appointment?
An initial and extended consultation will take up to 50 minutes. A review appointment will take approximately 25 minutes.
What qualifications do your Physiotherapists have?
Our team of Physiotherapists specialise exclusively in the area of continence management, pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation and physical conditions of pregnancy and the post-natal period. All Physiotherapists have attained Post Graduate qualifications in these fields.
Do you have male and female Physiotherapists?
All of our Physiotherapists are female, they are experienced in treating both women and men and treat all patients with discretion and sensitivity.
How many appointments will I need?
On average, our patients visit us 5-6 times over a 4-6 month period, this will depend on a number of individual factors and may vary.
What do I wear to my appointment?
Whatever you like or feel comfortable in. There are no requirements.
